Charm City Craft Mafia presents the 4th annual Pile Of Craft! A one-of-a-kind craft fair for Baltimore, featuring 40+ of the country's best handmade crafters selling their own housewares, stationery, screenprinted & sewn apparel, jewelry, handbags, hats, knit items, woven scarves, plush toys, ceramics, comic books, prints, paintings and more! Support handmade and local artists and meet them in person!

In addition to having the area's most unique shopping, Pile Of Craft will also feature DIY printmaking demonstrations from Baltimore's brand new community printmaking facility: Baltimore Print Studios; a raffle basket FULL of donated items from Craft Mafia vendors to benefit local non-profit library/learning resource/all-round-gem: Village Learning Place; and tasty snacks and coffee from local earth-friendly coffee shop & bookstore Red Emma's!

Don't miss this major event! John Berndt, Stephanie Barber, Ric Royer and Connor Kizer's COLLINSPORT is an inquiry into the structural anomalies of Dark Shadows (1966-1971), the American gothic-occult soap-opera famous for its unstable cast, momentum-less plot, and unusually over-elaborate dialog.

In this multimedia production of COLLINSPORT performed by Geodesic Gnome, all these elements and more are made to spin faster and faster in a test-tube until a precipitate of pure, undiluted reason drops onto the floor and shatters along with the known universe. Carved from the molten ice of popular-culture-as-psychedelic-logical-modality, the piece is a direct expression of your greatest fears about misunderstanding, enthused lethargy, and, well, vampires. Add to this the obscure theory of 'paradox paradoxes' which threatens to consume all of semantics and what have you got?

Geodesic Gnome is Baltimore's meta-conceptual super-group, performing boundary-defying philosophy and paradoxes-as-structure, lead by John Berndt. In this case the group is joined by Baltimore geniuses Connor Kizer and Stephanie Barber for this unique tribute to the Dark Shadows of Dark Shadows.

Holiday Heap - a FREE indie and alternative craft fair featuring a wide array of the country's best crafters - will take place on December 5th from 10 AM to 5 PM at St. John's Church, located at 2640 St. Paul St, Baltimore, MD 21218.

40+ vendors, juried from applicants nationwide, will include local favorites Bowerbox Press, Cotton Monster, HVM Designs, illegible ink, Kiss My Crafts, Phampersand Press, Pink Kiss Pottery, Pistol Designs, Red Prairie Press, Spaghetti Kiss Productions, Sweet Pepita, and many more! Local weaver Carlybird Weaves will be on hand with aMake-Your-Own Hula Hoop table! Red Emma's Coffee Shop will offer coffee & vegan snacks.

The Effervescent Collective sympathizes with the plight of the sense of smell; it has been neutralized and made polite in the course of modern history. Aromatic (Non)Sense consists of three dances designed to be smelled and investigates the scents of lemon, cilantro, and Old Spice.

Choreography from Laura Grossman, Lynne Price, and Lily Susskind in collaboration with the dancers: Jenny Berkowitz, Rachel Boss, Allison Cohan, Claire Cote, Kait Orr, Marilyn Mullen, Lynne Price, Emile Sorger, and Melissa Talleda.

Live music from Andrew B. Bernstein, Eli Breitburg-Smith, Jon Ehrens, and Owen Gardner.

The Baltimore Rock Opera Society Proudly Presents Their Debut Producion

Gründlehämmer is an entirely original, medieval, fantasy rock opera that combines completely ridiculous stage theatrics with great live music. Gründlehämmer will feature 15 original rock songs performed live by a 7-piece metal orchestra, in addition to a full cast and crew of talented people.

Imagine a medieval world where music ruled: plants grow at the beckoning of a farmer’s guitar; battles between good and evil are won by the man with the shiniest guitar (and the sweetest riffs). This vision, imagined by a group of Goucher College graduates, inspired the formation of the Baltimore Rock Opera Society. The process of creating their debut production—Gründlehämmer—is an extensive one and the BROS began working on their rock opera in January of 2008. The entire script and fifteen original songs have been written collaboratively. The DIY project has grown to over 100 Baltimore residents, artists, musicians, and actors who are enthusiastically lending their time, talents, and skills to the production.

Gründlehämmer takes place in the mythical land of Brotopia, a once prosperous agrarian Kingdom where the melody of an electric guitar wields power enough to tend a field of crops, to heal the sick, or to smite an enemy. The great farming musicians of Brotopia have become disgraced under leadership of the tyrannical Dark King, Lothario. With the aid of the Royal Guard, Lothario has oppressed his citizens, confiscated the powerful instruments that gave voice to their music, and formed an alliance with an immortal cave-dwelling monster, the Gründle. While most Brojans live their lives in fear, an innocent young boy of great talent is coming of age in a tiny hamlet on the outskirts of the Kingdom. His tremendous skills on the guitar bring hope to the tiny farming village and spark the flames of resistance in those that can still remember TRUE ROCK. Will this young boy cast off his innocence to claim the Gründlehämmer? Will the Dark King release his iron grip on the lifeblood of Brotopia?
