March’s Puppet Slamwich is a Mufuletta, a steaming savory delight so stuffed with mysterious goodness that it might just knock you out!

WHO and What will I be witnessing at this awesome Slamwich you ask? Here’s the run down:

Baltimore’s Kevin Sherry, of Squidfire fame, premieres his new show “Levels”, a love story between three puppeteers told on 4 levels of reality with a live band!

Jeanine Padgett and Lisa Krause debuting "The Dance of the Devil Dolls,” dark and humorous marionette tale about the black arts, inspired by excerpts from old radio shows.

Scene stealing comic troubadours Pepito the Clown (Z Smith) and Paul (Anna Fitzgerald) return as Country Diva and Cowboy Puppet, singing songs of love and Heartbreak!

Psychedelic drag performer, Sam Shea channels his new act “Only Girl In The World,” brimming with pop music, choreographed dance, transformable stories, maternal technology, glamour and flamboyant tidal waves!

Joining us from Richmond, VA, Christopher Hudert of Applause Unlimited presents “The Gift” a poetic story of puppet creation stripping away the complex to explore the simple ball and glove, creation and love!

And the house plants let loose in “Goldileaves and the Three Beers” by D.C.’s Eric Brooks and Christopher Hudert!

Black Cherry is proud to premier the very first show in our new puppet slam series, "Puppet Slamwich" on THURSDAY, October 21, 2010. ONE NIGHT ONLY! Do not miss this! Seriously. Oh, and this event is for grown-ups, so leave the kids at home!

Tickets are $7, and will be available at the door starting at
7:30pm. Seating is general admission and limited. The show starts at 8pm. Don't be late!

The first in the series, "Puppet Slamwich: Pulled Pork edition" features a variety of local and nationally touring performers whose work is infused with social commentary and political satire! Just what you need to liven up a Thursday night!


**Former Bread and Puppet company members, Danny McNamara and Diana Sette introduce their newly founded Possibilitarian Puppet Theatre to Baltimore. Hailing from Cleveland, Ohio, the duo will premier their “Dumb Show History of Humanity in 8 Pictures" and infuse the night with the raucous, jouyful sounds of their Wild Music Marching Ensemble!

**Hoesy Corona, Baltimore’s mercurial performance artist presents his poetic yet hard-hitting “Mexican Quick Change" about the rise of anti-Mexican sentiment in the United States.

**Liz Donadio, Erin Gleeson, and Kevin Blackistone perform in "Jeremiah 8:7", a play by Baltimore sweetheart Justin Durel with amazing puppets by Donna Sellinger of Missoula Oblongata. Based on the passage from the bible: "Even the stork knows her appointed time; and the turtle and the crane and the swallow observe the laws of their coming; but my people know not the laws of the Lord”

**Dave Bailey, from Austin, Texas and the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont, returns with RPM Puppet Conspiracy for and encore performance of “The Only Good Corporation is an Undead Corporation.” There will be Zombies!!
