Habitat Opens @ Rosenberg Gallery November 13

Habitat, an exhibition curated by Laura Amussen, focuses on the relationship between artistic practice and domestic space. On view at Goucher College's Rosenberg Gallery from November 3 - December 7, 2008.
Artists: Angelo Arnold, Rachel Bone, Alyssa Dennis, Robert Sparrow Jones, Chris La Voie, Jackson Martin, Sebastian Martorana, James Reick, and Eddie Winter

Opening Reception: Thursday, Nov. 13 from 7-9 p.m.

And honestly, who would pass up any opportunity to see Robert Sparrow Jones' paintings?

Menzshow Opening @ Flux

The Menzshow, featuring the work of 4 local, contemporary, male painters opened this evening at Flux Studios on Charles Street. Tragically, this opening seemed to suffer from poor publicity, but the work is awesome, the space is inviting and in a convenient location. The Menzshow could benefit from a closing reception, or an artist talk/event that could bring in another crowd.

Robert Sparrow Jones' work was probably the most interesting, illustrating an intangible quality like memory mixed with the surreal:
