MICA Hosts Free Screening of Beautiful Losers Oct. 14 in Falvey Hall
BALTIMORE--The MICA/Maryland Fall Film Series presents a free screening of Beautiful Losers (2008) at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14 in Falvey Hall of Brown Center, 1301 Mount Royal Ave.
The documentary, from directors Aaron Rose and Joshua Leonard, tells the story of a group of young artist outsiders who drew inspiration from their skateboarding, punk, hip-hop, and graffiti.
Many of these "beautiful losers" found each other in New York City, convening on a small DIY art space. Featured artists include Ed Templeton, Harmony Korine, the late Margaret Killgallen, Mike Mills, Shepard Fairey, Jo Jackson, Thomas Campbell, Stephen Powers, Geoff McFettridge, Chris Johanson, and Barry McGee.
October film festival screenings are free to all as part of Free Fall Baltimore. Seats will be available first-come, first-served.
